If you think It looks like Fools gold baby Then you don’t really Have a clue If you can’t really see The trees thru the forest Then maybe any cock a doodle do Then maybe any cock a doodle do When you’re walkin in the woods With a sack of all your goods And you think you might have Lost your way You think to call me baby But I’m thinkin that maybe It could wait for another day Walk walk walk Thru the woods at night There ain’t no moon There ain’t no light There’s plenty of creatures And they’re hidden from sight But they all can see you But they all can see you Tick tick tock Can you hear the clock There’s no time left You’d better take stock Look over your shoulder They’re comin’ from behind And you just might lose your mind And you just might lose your mind

Undercover Underwater Everywhere I don’t know What you mean I can’t read In between Line me up Against the wall Shoot me down Watch me fall Never coming up for air Can you see me from way up there Never coming up for air Undercover underwater everywhere Undercover underwater everywhere (solo) I don’t see you But I know you I cannot be you I cannot show you Can I tell you The water’s coming Can you hear the Distant drumming Never coming up for air Can you see me from way up there Never coming up for air Undercover underwater everywhere Undercover underwater everywhere Undercover underwater everywhere Undercover underwater everywhere

Headless Affair From up on the stage They all look the same Their eyes are wide like saucers as they gaze The sound of vomit as you Eat your phony shit Screams while the chickens dance their jigs It’s a headless affair A triumph of the heart They dance without their heads They dance without their heads They dance The final show At last some time for a little rest The whiskey washes rat’s blood off your breath And those with lovers disappear to darkened corners Nothing soothes a tired soul like flesh But you you’re only whiskey To fill the emptiness Of loneliness Of loneliness Oh loneliness (solo) All the tents are quiet Everything is in its place You stare alone at stars so high above Perhaps you understand Like the last of a dying race Doomed to life but never for to love You might shed a single tear As you’re lost in sleep’s embrace A question on your lips A simple thought that hesitates What brought you here in this time What made you you in this place What’s left to fear of this life When you long for death’s embrace Oh you long for death’s embrace You long for death’s embrace You long for death’s embrace Oh you long… for death’s embrace

Lightning 04:10
Lightning Lightning, striking Skies are filled with red Storm clouds, flying All around my head Thunder, clapping Rain is pouring down Lightning, striking These are the night time sounds I can hear it I can feel it All my senses are reeling I can hear it I can feel it The nighttime skies are screaming The nighttime skies are angry This is what I’m feeling This is what I’m feeling (solo) I can hear it I can feel it All my senses are reeling I can hear it I can feel it The nighttime skies are screaming The nighttime skies are angry This is what I’m feeling This is what I’m feeling This is what I’m feeling This is what I’m feeling

Death’s Ghostly Parade When you said you were leaving My heart is started grieving I better start believing That you said goodbye About the time The cock began to crow And the dog Was scratching at the door I began to think about That you weren’t coming back And I’d have to face living my life alone Dark and dreary days I’ll wander on my own And think about my life And should I go on And as the time goes by And the dust turns to light A thought comes to my mind that I Might as well die Death’s a lonely place Where the sun refuse to shine A dark and lonely hollow Where I can leave you behind And never think about The love we used to share So many feet underground No worries way down there If in fact some day I see you beyond the grave I might perhaps see our life And the love we could have saved But you’ll be dead and so will i No difference will it make To see each other in the afterlife In death’s ghostly parade

Safety 02:49
Safety They're poisoning the water and they're poisoning the air, Pillaging our mother but the pirates never care, They're in it for the money, the power and the gold, Nothing left is sacred when everything is sold. Always scheming, never thinking, Never feeling for those left unborn. Give me solace, give me shelter, Give me safety from the rising storm. But wait a minute who is really us and who is them? We thought they were our enemies it turns out we're their friends, We're in this dance together now until the very end, When you hate yourself there isn't room to makes amends. Always scheming, never thinking, Never feeling for those left unborn. Give me solace, give me shelter, Give me safety from the rising storm. Ever greedy, always needy, Clining to the paradigm of war. Give me solace, give me shelter, Give me safety from the rising storm.

Death on a Train I met her on a Northbound train to Portland I got on in Oakland; she in Richman It traveled up the valley, like an inchworm We both saw the rising of the sun I asked her if she’d like to have some breakfast We both went to the dining car We exchanged our names threw down some shots of whiskey And went off in search of the baggage car (solo) Drunken tales, slow as snails, with a girl I barely knew In the baggage car we got down so far to play some games that had No rules She hit her head on the wall of the car Her face turned shades of blue The blood in her hair was everywhere The consistency of glue The backdoor of the car didn’t seem so far So I dragged her across the floor And pushed her out, wiped my hands on a rag Let out a great big sigh You know looking back I kind of liked her smile Too bad she had to die

Rotting Bones My stomach's filled with rum, Heart with regrets, I stagger to the liquor store, For beer and cigarettes. There's lust on my mouth, Sweat on my skin. The boys call me Romeo, My wife won't let me in. I'm headed to the tracks, Where I can think and sit, The tops of all the boxcars are covered in birdshit. I expect I'll spread my wings, See what's left to see, They've always said I could but I have never been free. Oh who I'm trying to fool? I will never be free. I pissed on everybody, Ever gave a damn for me. The best thing I can do, Is hop this next freight train, Let 'em curse my rotting bones Until they forget my name. Let 'em curse my rotting bones Until they forget my name. My name, my name.

Bagnio 05:41
Bagnio I hit town a day ago My pockets filled with a little gold I asked a fella for where to go He pointed me towards the bagnio I made my way down Kearney Street With blood and bile beneath my feet Padfoots in the darkened doors Catcalls from the Chinese whores These streets are hard and these streets are mean His eyes were red and his face was lean He tried to take my gold well he found my knife On cold cobblestones I left him lying I wiped his warm blood from my blade Then a hollow prayer I made I didn’t pay him no more mind These days are filled with killing times I made it to where the fellow had said The windows barred and the door was red A smell crept from the room within Of flesh and booze and mortal sin I ducked my head and I stepped inside My eyes adjusted to the light Then my jaw dropped and my eyes went wide Well that wicked scent it filled my nose A tingle ran down to my toes The host told me my drinks were free If I could find a girl wearing underclothes The girls they beckoned me to drink And the whiskey had a cryptic stink It burned my throat and it punched my guts My head began to sink Then the room it started spinning round My heart broke into a panicked pound I reckoned God had struck me down Therein that bagnio Whoa the bagnio It bent my mind and warped my soul Where I’m bound for I don’t know Goddamn the bagnio I woke up on this wooden deck My eyes a blur, my head’s a wreck I’m aboard a sailing ship We’re on a distant trek The captain he’s a cruel man I’m a victim of a vicious plan I never should have dared to stand Therein that bagnio

Five Questions Five one word questions Fell out of the sky Who what where when and why I got an albatross Round my neck Coulda been a noose But it hasn’t happened yet Who can save my soul tonight Can I kick this rock And roll it out of sight When the levee breaks there’s Gonna be a fight Do you wanna know the truth Meet me at the diner In the very last booth Meet me in the diner In the very last booth Ask my questions I can make a guess Could be about life Could be about death All these omens Falling from the sky It doesn’t really matter We’re all gonna die

Lulu The cobweb was hanging On the ceiling so low The broom was leaning Right next to the door An Lulu and I Were on the couch Enjoying the warmth From our stove Knowing that soon It would be time For us to start On our chores So I got up, walked over And picked up the broom Looked at the cobweb Thought of its imminent doom Swept across the ceiling The cobweb was gone Looked at the couch That my Lulu was on (solo) Put down the broom And went back to my place Sitting right next to her Looking at her face She was wrapped up In my snuggie At peace with the world How could I imagine Another time Another place Another girl
